Anke Richter is an international journalist and author based in New Zealand. Previously in Germany, and after journalism training in Los Angeles, she was a magazine writer, a producer for a TV interview show and a show business reporter.

Anke's investigative and personal features have been published in Die Zeit, Spiegel, FAZ, taz, mare, New Zealand Geographic, North & South, The Spinoff, Canvas, Sunday (Stuff), The Fair Observer and others.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Anke Richter is a Christchurch, New Zealand based international journalist and author. Her work has covered climate change and social issues, and everything from the Christchurch earthquake of 2011 to the mosque attack of 2019. But over time she’s found herself covering more and more cults, to the point where she recently published her first book about the subject. ‘Cult Trip’ is Anke’s fourth book, but it’s her first written and available in English. She's also a member and co-founder of FACT Aotearoa (Fight Against Conspiracy Theories).
